James D. Nogalski has worked with prophetic literature for more than 20 years, beginning in Zurich where he completed his doctoral work under the tutelage of Odil Hannes Steck. Since the publication of his two influential volumes on the Book of the Twelve, he has collaborated on numerous projects related to the formation of prophetic writings. Nogalski taught at institutions in Kentucky, Illinois, and North Carolina before joining the faculty of Baylor University in 2007. It is in the context of teaching that Nogalski became convinced of the need for an accessible way to introduce students to prophetic poetry. The resulting book, Interpreting Prophetic Literature, takes students into the poetic imagery, forms, style, and message of these writings.
